Pantone’s Colors For The Spring

So, spring is finally here. Yeah… It smells like it… it’s feels like it.. so, lets dress like it. Whats better than some happy and soft colors, like Pantone’s gorgeous choice of color of the year - "Rose Quartz” and “Serenity”.
I found them in that amazing spring coat from Banana Republic and that sweet cross body bag of F21.

Isn’t that combination so harmonious by bringing those inviting shades that embody a mindset of tranquility and inner peace - perfect for the new season.

Coconut Oil - My Beauty Miracle

I’ve been always trying to take a good care of my myself - trying to eat well, taking care of my body and skin. But lately I’m trying to do it in a more green and organic way. That’s why one of my best beauty secrets lately is coconut oil!!! Oh my… It’s the best thing ever. It’s one of the mine components in my evening routine.

I use it after shower instead of body lotion. It’s an effective moisturizer on all types of skin, including dry skin. The texture is amazing, smells delicious and it’s feels so good on my skin, even while I am applying it. Leaves my skin so soft and moisturize. I think I'm addicted to the feeling of it on my skin :)

I’m using it also on my hair. Simply apply very small amount of it on my damaged ends after I wash my hair to protect it from tangling and make brushing easier. (I also use argan oil for it, but the coconut oil make it smoother) For deeper conditioning I apply it all over my hair then pile it into a bun or double braid it, and wash it in the evening or next day. It’s work amazing.

It’s work amazing as a makeup remover by removing even waterproof mascara. Put a little bit on your fingertips and gently rub it over your face and  eyes, paying attention to your under-eyes as well. The oil does a great job breaking down waxy, inky eye makeup, and leaves the delicate area hydrated, too. Once you're done, sweep it away with a cotton ball and then wash your face as usual.

And last but not least coconut oil deodorant. I’ve been looking for a long time to find substitute of the conventional deodorant antiperspirants full with cancer causing aluminum. I try the natural one from the organic stores, but was never extremely happy. I started using my DIY  coconut oil deodorant a few weeks ago. It was recommended to me from my best friend which gave me the recipe. I’m still testing it but so far I could say I’m happy with the results. And what I’m most happy about is that absolutely natural - No Aluminum! No Parabens! etc.
Here is the simple recipe:
3 Tbs coconut oil
3 Tbs baking soda
3 Tbs arrow root powder or organic cornstarch (I’m using cornstarch)
10 – 15 essential oils (optional - I’m using lavender)

Mix the coconut oil, baking soda, and arrow root powder in the small mixing bowl. Use the back of the spoon to help “cream” the ingredients until you have a consistency similar to deodorant. Put mixture in small container or an empty deodorant stick for easier use and keep it in the fridge to prevent melting in the warmer temperature.

NB - I'm using a Raw Extra Virgin Coconut oil! Don't have a particular brand that I stick to, just whatever I see in the organic store.

Culottes Diaries

During my last vacation in Miami I had that great photoshoot in Wynwood Art District with my photographer Steven Jaramillo. Such an amazing location, have so much vibes and atmosphere (reminded me of cleaner and nicer version of Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Provoke by the graffiti on the walls  I try to pull out more, kind of, art look for myself - using that culottes set that I bought on sale at F21 a while ago. The culottes pants were absolute hit lately and will continue with full power through the spring and summer season. Unfortunately as gorgeous as they look, they could be also pretty tricky. They are definitely not the best choice for a petite girls. If your legs are not that long with pants like this they will look even shorter, be careful before you decide to wear it ;). My personal opinion is that culottes should be always wear with high heels, open shoes to make your look elegant. Thats why I set it up with my favorite blue Marc Fisher sandals and my super cute Miu Miu bag. I’m also wearing my Apple watch, which is my best friend lately ;) My make up was done by Lina Alzate
