Romantic Kotor

Hey guys hello from Montenegro and welcome to one of the world’s most beautiful bays - Kotor, a city of traders and famous sailors, with many stories to tell.
The Old City of Kotor, Montenegro is a well preserved urbanization typical of the middle Ages, and its medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made it a UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site”.
Hemmed in by staunch walls snaking improbably up the surrounding slopes, the town is a medieval maze of museums, churches, cafes, squares and Venetian palaces. It’s a dramatic and delightful place where the past coexists with the present. As always I tried to represent the vibes of the place in my style…. And what a vibe this magnificent place has… Its cobblestones ring with the sound of children racing to school in centuries-old buildings, lines of laundry flutter from wrought-iron balconies, and hundreds of cats.
Our time there past so fast but definitely memorable. Spend between casual walks in the old town, romantic diners and a relaxing boat rides in the Adriatic sea…. Such an amazing place….

Legend says the island (the only artificial island in the Adriatic) was built on top of a rock where two sailors found a picture of the Virgin Mary in 1452. From that point forward, local sailors would lay another rock following their return from a successful voyage and once a year, on July 22nd, this tradition is commemorated in an event called FaĊĦinada where locals row out and lay some more rocks to keep the tradition alive.

See you again Montenegro!
